    Giant Interactive is looking for savvy sales engineer/technology evangelist hybrid to improve the awareness of Giant’s expertise and experience and enhancing our market position in the fast-growing OTT technology market. This position is in our LA office.

    Role:  

    You will help define long-term organizational and strategic goals, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals, and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions, players and trends.

    Responsibilities:

    Business Development

    • Expand Giant’s client base, leveraging your technical acumen, industry knowledge, and superior people skills to uncover opportunity within the B2B OTT/streaming video technology market.
    • Identify and research prospects and the key decision makers within the target organization.
    • Initiate, build and maintain professional relationships and communication with prospective, new, and existing clients.
    • Plan approaches and develop pitches, winning proposals, and actionable SOWs that address clients’ needs, concerns, and objectives.
    • Deliver sales presentations one-on-one or to many.
    • Plan and lead long-term client development initiatives.
    • Bring your persuasive “A” game and “never-say-die” attitude, following up leads, setting new client meetings, and closing deals.

    Client Retention

    • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
    • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
    • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.

    Strategy, Market Intelligence & Planning

    • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
    • Attend industry functions, such as association events and industry conferences, and provide feedback and information on market conditions, technology evolution and creative trends.
    • Contribute to competitive analyses of Giant’s services, market position, and growth potential, as well as that of our competitors.
    • Remain informed about current market conditions and share relevant business intelligence.
    • Contribute to the development of new services, products, and distribution channels to meet changing client needs.

    Management and Research

    • Submit weekly, accurate sales progress reports.
    • Ensure that data is accurately, promptly and consistently entered and maintained within the company’s sales management system.
    • Forecast and achieve sales targets.
    • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
    • Develop and exhibit a thorough understanding of Giant’s people, capabilities, goals and objectives

    Location: LA-based

    Travel: Potentially up to 25% travel

    This is a full-time role with benefits package after 3 months of employment.

  • LA - IT Network Specialist/Digital Video Technician

    Giant Interactive is seeking a multi-talented, technical whiz who enjoys solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment. This position is in our LA office.

    Role:

    The IT Network Specialist/Digital Video Technician will manage all operations of the network and diagnose and resolve highly technical networking and related system problems, formulate new procedures, coordinate network software and hardware installations/upgrades, and make recommendations to improve the network infrastructure.  This person will also process and compress digital video and audio for digital distribution platforms and DVD/Blu-ray.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee administration of the LAN Infrastructure for office
    • Fortify all internal networking solutions and structure environment to scale for growth
    • Provide IT and networking support for all staff
    • Liaise with team in other offices to achieve best-possible company-wide solutions
    • Encode and prepare digital video/audio files for delivery
    • Assess quality, check for errors, and report severity of issues in digital video/audio assets
    • Confirm basic technical requirements
    • Error checking and verifying XML documents prior to delivery

    Qualifications:

    • 2+ years of network experience with Cisco routers and switches
    • Intermediate level understanding and experience with routing and switching technologies
    • Experience with Shoretel phone system
    • Strong understanding of troubleshooting techniques
    • BA, advanced courses, or certificates in digital video production required
    • 3+ years of video encoding experience
    • 2+ years experience in studio and/or desktop level video production
    • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of video formats and compression codecs
    • Working knowledge of authoring and graphic applications including: Final Cut Studio Pro, Photoshop, After Effects and DVD Studio Pro
    • Working knowledge of digital video standards and SD and HD tape formats

     Requirements:

    • Experience as a network engineer
    • Experience with Cisco products
    • Experience with digital video/audio encoding systems and processes
    • Experience in video machine room
    • Experience encoding both physical materials and digital files.
    • Experience with preparation of metadata and xml documentation
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to work with minimal direction while managing heavy workload
    • Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
    • Flexibility to switch among different tasks day to day
    • Enjoy work in a fast paced environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • BA in IT field or Video Production desired
    • Keen attention to detail
    • Positive, can-do attitude and team player
    • Flexibility with work schedule
    • Exceptional customer service skills
    • Excellent follow-through
    • Knowledge of iTunes platform delivery specifications and other digital platform specifications a plus
    • Experience running cable a plus
    • Experience with the entertainment industry a plus
